Crime Writers Kitchen!

By Kristi Belcamino

I'm excited to announce that our very own lovely and talented, Holly West, the awesome and awe-inspiring Thomas Pluck, and yours truly have teamed up to start a website about crime writers who cook.

Crime Writers Kitchen stemmed from the realization that the three of us are crazy about good food. We first recognized each other as kindred spirits on Twitter when we got way more excited about food tweets than the average crime writer. That enthusiasm led to a conversation about joining together to share recipes and the Crime Writers Kitchen was born.

It would have never been more than a yummy idea if it weren't for Holly's initiative and expertise in setting up the website and a Facebook page and basically getting it off the ground while Thomas and I sat back in admiration.

We are hoping it will be a repository for delicious recipes we can share, not just for food, but drinks, as well.

You can check it out here:

Fantastic idea! Over the past 15 years, my wife has done a number on me regarding good food. I went from hamburger helper where I rinsed the meat (yes, really; still the #1 thing she brings up all the time) to actually cooking real food that, surprisingly, tastes good and that she wants to eat. In a bit of ironic timing, I recently bought Anthony Bourdain's novel (title escapes me) about a culinary crime. Serendipity.

Hey, Kristi,

A couple of weeks ago I asked if you there would be a print version of your book. I just picked one up from Gary at Once Upon a Crime--I told you I would--and he said your signing was wild and went really well. So congratulations on that. I'm going to have a signing there in October and I don't know if I can make it wild, but I can try.

There is no shame in your game. Many of us started out with Hamburger Helper (uh, but I never rinsed mine) and have evolved into cooking real food! : )
Rick,
Thanks so much for picking up my book. My signing was incredibly crazy and cool. I think they said 100 people showed up. It was a big awesome blur to me. Hope to make it to your signing in October!

Hey, Kristi,

Bring your 100 people and you'll make me a very happy man. Probably Gary, too.

October 16th, 7:00 I believe is the date. If you can make it, I'd love the support and it would be great to meet you in person.

(My wife will be there signing some books that we believe she was the cover model for--Gary's been having her sign store copies the past few times she's been in there with me.)
