That's it.
However, the students beginning college at our 35,000 student university in Detroit have never been so ill-prepared. It breaks my heart. I agree with you, not only are people reading all of the stuff you mentioned, they're reading books too. Lots of them. Readers now though are more sophisticated and expect more. I mean even the crap at the top of the bestseller list today is better than the crap of 50 years ago. Look no further than e-books to see that people are still reading. I don't think the problem with publishing is that nobody reads, I think books are too damned expensive and distributed piss poorly.

Well done Dave.Bryon Quertermoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18142740189973184854noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7119990365479009764.post-20533012920071023582010-12-09T08:27:58.936-05:002010-12-09T08:27:58.936-05:00Your advice to publishers is dead on. On the other hand, JUSTIFIED and TERRIERS (both on FX)were DVRed and watched without fail at the first opportunity. Make peace with the fact that a good book/show will not appeal to everyone; increasing the demographic appeal often dilutes the content. Focus on what you have that's good, and people will find it.Dana Kinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01350344882342624735noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7119990365479009764.post-70487272447577234212010-12-09T03:34:53.463-05:002010-12-09T03:34:53.463-05:00Very well put, Dave.Very well put, Dave.David Cranmerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04749857752139212888noreply@blogger.com
