And then the question was do I send copies to everyone who read arcs and did reviews, even if the reviews just went on amazon instead of on the book itself, etc.
So much to learn as a new writer.
And I should've done the post it notes last weekend. I was brain dead on remembering names and I hate that because I don't want the person to think I don't care about their name enough to hear it the first time ... and sending two books - brilliant.
PS My rule of thumb is do anything and everything Joelle suggests or does.Kristihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01724127668983231150noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7119990365479009764.post-13605952846408236162015-05-28T11:01:37.519-05:002015-05-28T11:01:37.519-05:00Seems to me, if I came to your reading, then I pro...Seems to me, if I came to your reading, then I probably already plan to buy the book, you know? Also, if your book is in English, I can read it myself.
Of course, I've read from my book when it seems appropriate, but listeners can often zone out after 10 minutes or less.
I like going to readings in which the author talks about the "inside" story of publishing the book or gives some background on the characters or stories.

I think my favorite readings have been when I've connected with the author, not the book. I have been to a lot of these and everyone is different. Megan is off stage in fifteen minutes but the woman who wrote Orphan Train went on for well over an hour. I am really befuddled, not being used to speaking in front of a group anyway. pattinase (abbott)https://www.blogger.com/profile/02916037185235335846noreply@blogger.com
